The Apple iPhone 7 has just been officially unveiled, and it's looking like it's going to be both the best and possibly the most controversial version yet. Miss the live event? Sick of trawling through endless pages of websites to get the info you need? Here's a rundown of what you need to know about the iPhone 7.
The iPhone 7 Plus will have TWO cameras
This goes without saying, but there will be two versions of the iPhone 7 available at launch- the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus will be of course larger, but it will also contain a second camera. The second camera will contain an additional telephoto lens that will offer users better zoom and depth in their snaps.
Goodbye headphone jack
This is the update that will most likely divide consumers. In a brave/stupid move by Apple, the iPhone 7 will no longer have a headphone jack. Yes, you read that right- as far as Apple are concerned, the classic headphone jack is a thing of the past! Instead Apple have created a new option in its place, and that comes in the form of Air Pods. Air Pods are Apple earbuds that will connect wirelessly to the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch. With a simple click of the box they come in, the Air Buds instantly sync up with the iPhone 7. Nice!
Of course, you could always just buy a pair of Bluetooth headphones instead, but it's nice to know that Apple didn't just remove the headphone jack, slap us on the back and say, “You're on your own buddy!”. Opinion on this new feature has divided us here at CeX...
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Just about everything in the iPhone 7 is an improvement over what came before it. The display screen is now much brighter, battery life will now last as long as 14 hours, it will be available in an array of colours, the phone is also now way more water resistant, while the phone itself is powered by a A10 Fusion Chip. The A10 Fusion Chip is a 64-bit quad processor, and that's pretty damn powerful. For the less tech savvy people out there (like myself!), lets just say that the iPhone 7 is 120 times more powerful than the original iPhone that came out in 2007.
That's the reason why you opened this blog post, right? The iPhone 7 is open to preorder on September 9th and will ship September 16th. Expect them at your local CeX store too, naturally.
