Top 10 PS4 VR Games

10. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

Until Dawn is easily one of the best horror experiences available on the PS4. Although Rush of Blood isn’t the sequel that many were hoping for, it’s still an unmissable part of the PSVR catalogue. An on-rails shooting game that has little in common with the first game, Rush of Blood is a terrifyingly well-executed virtual reality game that’s bound to be as fun for the people watching as it is for you. Just for different reasons, of course.

9. Doom VFR

While long-term fans of the series will be disappointed to know that they won’t be playing as Doom guy in this game, they’ll be pleased to hear that the series’ famous over-the-top attitude to FPS gaming translates amazingly to VR. The visuals are beautiful, and seeing the battleground light up all around you is very satisfying. It might be a little on the short side, but you can be sure that you’re going to love every moment of the carnage.

8. The Elder Scrolls Skyrim VR

Of all the lands that you could possibly jump into with virtual reality, Skyrim has to be one of the best. By now we’re all familiar with this smash-hit action RPG from Bethesda - it’s been released on almost everything imaginable - but putting on that headset and stepping into the world of Tamriel makes it feel brand new all over again. Mods are now available on the PS4 too, so there are endless reasons to start another run.

7. Rez Infinite

Rez Infinite is like a crazy sci-fi dream. This classic shooter game has you fly through space shooting at spaceship-like bugs, and the open, gliding nature of the control system makes it a perfect pairing with VR. Soaring through the levels towards your goals feels marvellous, and the blocky, classical graphics are satisfyingly retro while maintaining an incredibly modern polish. This will be the game you’re pulling out when you’re showing your friends what the PSVR can do!

6. Ghost Giant

Emotional and infinitely charming, Ghost Giant is another PSVR game that uses an imaginative and unique way to include you in the world of the game - as a giant ghost! Following a young 11-year-old kitten called Louis, you interact with the world of Ghost Giant like it was your own private dollhouse, building bridges, solving puzzles, distracting villagers and peering into buildings to help Louis along. An instant classic that truly tugs the heartstrings.

5. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

If you’re a fan of horror, this is the game for you. If you’re a fan of scaring your friends, this is the game for you. You take first-person control of Ethan looking for his wife in a derelict plantation, where terrifying foes are awaiting you. The survival horror gameplay has a mood of desperation and danger that makes the VR all the more engrossing. Move away the breakables - it’s gonna make you jump!

4. Iron Man VR

The idea of tearing through sky at breakneck speed and zapping baddies with my hand cannons, all from the perspective of famed goatee enthusiast Tony Stark, should be pure fantasy fulfilment. And fortunately, it is. It’s a faithful take on a beloved character, and when it all comes together, it’s easy to immerse yourself in the role. You can zip around in the sky, avoiding obstacles, blast enemies with your hand cannons and be a smug rich bastard. What’s not to love?

3. Farpoint

Farpoint has some of the most beautiful graphics made for VR right now. The sci-fi shooter takes you to a distant alien planet filled with all kinds of beautiful terrain. The lack of any HUD and the brilliant sound design make it incredibly immersive - the sound of approaching enemies never stops sending a shiver down your spine. We recommend playing with a PSVR Aim controller for the best and most immersive experience.

2. Star Wars: Squadrons

Star Wars: Squadrons is an absolute delight and a worthy successor to the original run of Rogue Squadron titles. Letting you pilot ships from both the Rebellion and Empire, It offers challenging yet fair gameplay, that affords true fantasy fulfilment for anyone who used to pretend to pilot their own X-Wing as a kid. With full PSVR support, you too can feel the rush of being a galactic hero!

1. Superhot

Superhot is one of the coolest games available on PSVR right now. While simplistic graphics and arcadey level progression make it feel a little like a tech demo, Superhot is an FPS game that I can describe only as a Matrix simulator. You’ll feel like Neo as you slow down time to dodge bullets and plan your next move. Taking down armies of thugs in one sweep of the room John Wick style never gets old. Unmissable.
