The hauntingly beautiful Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, a dark journey into psychosis, boasts one of the most stunning visual designs in modern gaming. Unfolding like a visual novel, this linear experience doesn’t bog itself down with an open world, customisation, crafting (etc.) and instead focuses entirely on the storytelling, which is complimented enormously by some of the finest visuals you will find on the Xbox One. Absolutely gorgeous.

Battlefield V brings World War II spectacularly to life thanks to phenomenal visuals. As Battlefield 1 did, V is a sobering and poignant portrayal of war and the stunningly immersive graphics transport you directly onto the titular battlefield, making each moment all the more harrowing. Battlefield V is a stunning example of the FPS genre at its best, with visuals that trump Call of Duty across the board. Remarkable.


7. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

It's been a while since we've seen Master Chief on top form, but Halo Infinite is here to rectify that, and then some! This is a near-perfect homage to everything we loved from the Bungie series with a modern twist. The single-player campaign shines best in the heat of battle when you really remind yourself why this game deserves to be in the run for best new shooter.

Following on from the utterly harrowing Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, this first-person horror masterpiece will have you on the edge of your seat as you explore the mysterious titular village avoiding vampires, werewolves and other things that go bump in the night. Gorgeously designed with an atmosphere to die for, Resident Evil Village is the closest gaming has come to throwing players right into the middle of a terrifying horror movie - and the result is one of the best Resident Evil games in years.

Rockstar’s Wild West masterpiece looks utterly gorgeous on the Xbox One, making the story of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang all the more engrossing and cinematic. Red Dead Redemption 2 is gaming as an art form, and the graphics here are nothing short of phenomenal. From the gruff character design to the muddy trails, vibrant wilderness and rolling rivers, everything here looks stunning.
