Taking place in the expansive cities Kamurocho and Isezaki Ijincho, Lost Judgment mixes immersive and visceral combat sequences with slower levels of stealth and investigation, with a result that feels like LA Noire and Street Fighter combined. A fantastic and compelling game.
9. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
This thrilling and colourful adventure from Square Enix puts players in control of Star-Lord, the bold and charismatic leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Boasting an all-new story and truly enjoyable gameplay, this thrilling adventure could just be the finest Marvel video game to date. And, unsurprisingly, the soundtrack absolutely slaps. Star-Lord would love it.
8. Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
One of the most stunning and immersive Assassin’s Creed adventures to date, Valhalla takes players into the dark and violent Viking era. Whether you’re customising your settlement, taking on side quests or journeying through the main campaign, Valhalla is absolutely packed with things to do. Ridiculously lengthy and layered, the game is the biggest and boldest experience yet in the beloved series - and it looks absolutely gorgeous.
7. Control
As Jesse Faden, players explore the paranormal headquarters of a mysterious US agency and utilize powerful supernatural abilities in order to defeat a deadly enemy known as the Hiss, which has corrupted reality. As you explore the shifting and unpredictable world, players must develop exciting combat possibilities and master complex rituals to alter the surroundings and defeat the enemy. The result is a stunningly innovative and exciting action-adventure game.
6. Borderlands 3
Journey back into the mayhem-fuelled and chaotic world of Borderlands in this acclaimed threequel, now taking place on multiple diverse planets. While the plot is centred around stopping a pair of cult-leading twins from harnessing the power of the galaxy, it’s all rather irrelevant. This is a game built entirely around it’s unique, thrilling gameplay and it’s an absolute delight to play. With gorgeous visuals and over-the-top action, Borderlands 3 is an absolute must.
5. Watch Dogs: Legion
Feeling something like Mr. Robot directed by Guy Ritchie, this incredible London-set action romp combines all the guns and geezers of the British crime genre with all the high-tech hacking the series is known for, resulting in the series’ finest hour yet. With a richly detailed futuristic London to explore, seemingly endless playable characters and polished mechanics, this one is an absolute must for genre fans and anyone who wants to see the sights of London from the comfort of their sofa!
4. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Taking place in a brutal 1500s Sengoku Japan, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice puts you in the shoes of the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced and disfigured warrior. Bound to protect a young lord, you become the target of vicious enemies and when the lord is captured, you must stop at nothing to save him. Packed with thrilling action, stunning world design and an incredible story, this is a truly cinematic and unmissable gaming experience.
3. Devil May Cry 5
With original director Hideaki Itsuno at the helm, Devil May Cry 5 is the finest entry in the beloved series in some time. As a demonic invasion unfolds, you will control three playable characters with radically different combat styles as you battle the hellish villains in Red Grave City. With photorealistic character designs and breathtaking environment effects, DMC 5 shows us what the Xbox One is capable of while also delivering a stunningly engrossing and action-packed narrative experience.

Completely built up from the ground up, this spine-chilling reimaging of the 1998 classic is one of the most passionate re-releases ever. With new over-the-shoulder camera mode and a modernised control scheme, Resident Evil 2 has never played or looked better than this phenomenal update which features phenomenal and atmospheric visuals, with stunning lighting and environment features. With incredible combat mechanics and an engrossing plot, this one is an absolute masterpiece. A must-own.
